Better is rebuilding home finance as an AI-native platform—turning a process that once took weeks into something that can happen in seconds.
With over $110B in loans funded and $1.2B+ raised, we operate at real scale while rethinking how homeownership works from the ground up.
The category hasn’t caught up yet. That’s the opportunity.
We’re hiring a Senior Workday Solutions & Integrations Specialist to own and deliver integrations across our ecosystem as an integral part of our People Systems team.
This role is for a hands-on integration enthusiast – someone who is passionate about building, improving and scaling integrations, while bringing new ideas and approaches to the table. You will design, build, and own complex, multi-system integrations, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and aligned with end-to-end business processes.
This is a hybrid role combining deep technical expertise with strong functional understanding. You will operate as the integrations solutions owner, partnering closely with HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT teams to connect systems, data, and workflows—not just move data.
Success in this role requires both strong ownership and curiosity - the ability to proactively identify issues, continuously improve existing integrations and stay open to learning new tools, patterns and approaches to support long-term business outcomes.
End-to-end ownership of the Workday integration landscape, including design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing optimization
Scalable, maintainable integration solutions across internal systems and external vendors (e.g., payroll, benefits, background checks, recruiting, finance)
Integration solutions aligned with Workday configuration, business processes, and data flows
Long-term reliability, performance, and scalability of integrations
Limited to basic Workday configuration or low-complexity integrations (e.g., EIB-only experience)
Focused solely on ticket-based support or maintenance work
A pure backend engineering role without Workday ecosystem expertise
Responsibilities

Drive long-term scalability, reusability, and reliability of integration solutions
Continuously evaluate and improve existing solutions, bringing forward new ideas and approaches where appropriate
Proactively identify system, process, and data issues and translate them into scalable solutions
Partner with HR and People Systems teams to co-design solutions aligned with business processes
Determine when to use Workday configuration vs integration approaches
Evaluate downstream impacts of system and process changes
Design and build complex, multi-system integration workflows, including orchestration logic, conditional processing, error handling, and data dependencies
Build integrations using Workday tools including Workday Studio (required), EIB, Core Connectors, and RaaS
Develop integrations across a complex ecosystem of internal systems and external vendors
Design and consume APIs (REST/SOAP) and perform data transformations using XML/XSLT
Support and enhance integrations tied to payroll, benefits (including open enrollment), and annual performance/merit cycles
Apply best practices for performance, scalability, and reliability
Own and improve existing legacy integrations, including complex or unstable implementations
Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term, scalable fixes
Refactor and optimize integrations for performance, reliability, and maintainability
Ensure high reliability during critical business events (payroll runs, open enrollment, performance cycles)
Ensure monitoring, alerting, and operational stability
Lead integration and regression testing across Workday tenants
Ensure end-to-end validation within business processes
Support Workday bi-annual releases and assess system impacts
Drive solutions through production implementation and stabilization
Partner with stakeholders to support reporting needs tied to integrations and more complex business needs
Use Workday reporting and BIRT to validate and troubleshoot data outputs
Ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems
Collaborate across cross-functional teams and internally with People Systems
Create and maintain technical specifications and integration documentation
Ensure alignment with audit, compliance, and internal standards (e.g., SOX)
Identify opportunities to improve integrations, processes, and system usage
