The placement opportunity includes the following departments and positions: Department: Orientation Position: Onboarding Duration: 0.5 month Job Description: You will receive orientation to the company and local community and includes learning about our company’s customers, culture, business strategies, etc.; learn about payroll schedules and payroll tax withholding; local training area, housing options, apartment complexes and transportation options; meet key contacts and other employees; receive computer training on company systems; receive orientation to local community including cultural centers, volunteer opportunities, local sporting events, and entertainment venues. Orientation is scheduled to take up to one month and takes places concurrently with the first phase of training. Department: Food and Beverage Position: Server and Host Duration: 6 months Job Description: You will learn opening and closing duties of the front of house Food and Beverage service in a three-meal period, hotel restaurant operation as a Server and Host role. Learn to recognize industry standards, required health codes and safe practices, the flow and theme of a menu and restaurant, restaurant technology such as Open Table, and the point-of-sale system - MICROS, ability to control large volumes of people, and anticipate guest needs and address them appropriately; learn various upselling techniques; control guest checks and secure proper payment; learn the use of point-of-sale computer system to record and track food and beverage requests and payments; learn to ensure service standards are met; learn to handle guest complaint and ensure customer satisfaction. Learn to prioritize, organize and follow up on guest requests and needs in a fast-paced environment. Department: Food and Beverage Position: Barista Duration: 3.5 months Job Description: You will learn opening duties of the Barista which includes mastering the craft of making specialty coffee beverages to a high standard involves. A skilled barista understands different coffee beans, roasts, and brewing methods, adjust the grind size, extract the perfect shot of espresso, steam milk to the right texture, and create latte art. Additionally, they will learn how to handle various customer requests and preferences efficiently, which requires good communication and multitasking skills. They will learn the opening and/or closing duties of the Barista role. Department: Food and Beverage Position: Supervisor Duration: 2 months Job Description: You will learn to supervise outlet service staff; learn to assist in the development and maintenance of quality standards; interact with guests to ensure a positive guest experience; ensure that meals are being served in a professional and timely manner by circulating within the outlet and communicating with the kitchen and service staff; handle guest complaints; ensure availability of manpower, supplies, and equipment to ensure positive guest experience; learn to assist in hiring, scheduling, supervision of cashiers, supervisors, greeters, servers and bus attendants; learn to conduct pre-meal meetings and training of employees. You may be required to jump in and assist the team to increase the guest experience in service. Requirements Minimum of 6 months work integrated learning experience in a 4-5* hotel/fine dining restaurant. Diploma in Hospitality Management NQF 5 and above You have shown consistency in the industry.
