Conduct machine setup, trouble shooting, repairs and preventive maintenance service.

The mechanic hired for this position should be flexible enough to work other shifts as needed, given adequate notice and work on Saturdays when needed.  The candidate must be able to work in a team environment and assist others as needed to support production and maintenance needs.  The candidate should possess a positive attitude and the ability to think through machine issues so that solutions to mechanical problems can be performed in a timely manner, reducing machine downtime. The mechanic should be an energetic self-starter who does not require directions to perform necessary tasks to get his or her machines running properly while ensuring productions needs are met.

Responsibilities

  • →Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs.
  • →Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • →Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service in accordance with the R.C. Bigelow Progressive Maintenance Program.
  • →Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic trouble shooting and repair of packaging and production machine.
  • →Performs scheduled preventive maintenance on machines and equipment.
  • →Complete all preventive maintenance reports and log entries on the condition of machines.
  • →Ensure that all production and packaging equipment produce products within established Q.A. standards and conduct all assigned quality monitoring functions
  • →Follow R.C. Bigelow’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
  • →Comply with RC Bigelow Safety and Health Rules.
  • →Performs other duties as assigned or needed.
