As a Blackbird Behavioral Health Department Manager, you will provide leadership for a behavioral health team while also delivering excellent clinical care to your own caseload of patients. This role oversees day-to-day clinical operations, supports therapist development, ensures quality standards are met, and helps grow Blackbird’s presence within the Pittsburgh market through strong community and referral relationships.
During the first 90–120 days, this role will primarily focus on market development and referral relationship-building across the region. As clinic growth and patient demand increase, the manager’s direct clinical caseload will gradually ramp.
- Passionate about improving behavioral health care for children, adolescents, and families
- Strong leader who can support clinicians while building a positive, accountable team culture
- Experienced in providing high-quality psychotherapy services to youth populations
- Relationship-focused with strong communication and partnership-building skills
- Collaborative and comfortable working across clinical, operational, and community teams
- Growth-oriented, adaptable, and excited to help expand services within the market
- Organized, resourceful, and comfortable balancing clinical and operational priorities
- Oversee clinical operations and support quality patient care
- Supervise, mentor, and support therapist development and productivity
- Provide onboarding and training on clinical workflows and documentation standards
- Deliver evidence-based psychotherapy services as caseload ramps
- Build relationships with local pediatricians, PCPs, schools, universities, therapists, and community organizations through hosting provider meetings, delivering presentations, and tapping into networking opportunities within the market
- Drive community outreach efforts and develop tight partnerships resulting in strong inbound referral flow
- Collaborate with Operations, Care Navigation, Marketing, HR, and Clinical Leadership teams
- Support recruitment, retention, and team development efforts
- Maintain high standards for clinical documentation and patient outcomes
- Current PA license (LPC, LMFT, LCSW, or PsyD) and willingness to cross license other states.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a licensed therapist
- Experience working with children and/or adolescents
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Must reside within commuting distance of Pittsburgh, PA
- Available on-site a minimum of 3 days per week
