Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Divinity, Theology, Ministry or Pastoral Care from an accredited school.
The hospice chaplain provides spiritual care and comfort to terminally ill patients, as well as their families and loved ones in an interfaith approach. Care is in the form of spiritual counseling, prayer, devotional ritual, and grief and loss support. The hospice chaplain is part of an interdisciplinary team that supports people at critical junctures in their lives, always making a difference. Care delivery primarily takes place in a patient’s home or in a community where the patient resides.
Responsibilities

- →Provides therapeutic interventions.
- →Provides effective patient/family teaching.
- →Supports the death/dying process.
- →Collaborates in providing patient care.
- →Creates timely and accurate documentation.
- →Assures patient safety.
- →Partners with community chaplains and spiritual counselors.
- →Utilizes resources effectively and efficiently.
- →Adheres to Bloom standards and continuously improves processes/services.
- →Maintains and enhances professional skills.
- →Adheres to high standards of personal and professional conduct.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Divinity, Theology, Ministry or Pastoral Care from an accredited school.
- Minimum of two years' experience providing spiritual support and counseling to clients and family members in a health care setting.
- Demonstration of expertise in spiritual assessment and counseling, and in concepts of death and dying issues.
- Knowledge of concepts and issues for dying for adults and children. Current Colorado driver's license and automobile insurance.
- Master's degree in divinity, theology or related field.
- Previous hospice experience.
- Bilingual abilities, a plus.

The salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience. The pay range for this role in the state of Colorado typically falls between $65,000-$75,000 annually with the potential for performance-based bonuses and other benefits. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, and location within the state.
