Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Direct daily field execution for healthcare construction work in occupied environments, keeping safety, schedule, quality, and operational continuity at the center of every decision.
- →Set up and enforce containment strategies, airflow controls, access plans, and site housekeeping practices that support infection prevention and a clean, well-managed project environment.
- →Lead subcontractors and trade partners across all phases of work, coordinating manpower, sequencing, material flow, and short-range planning to maintain momentum.
- →Oversee installation and coordination of critical building systems, including HVAC, electrical, life safety, low voltage, plumbing, medical gas, and other infrastructure tied to clinical operations.
- →Partner closely with facilities teams, end users, inspectors, and project leadership to plan shutdowns, after hours work, deliveries, and other sensitive activities with minimal disruption.
- →Run daily huddles, progress reviews, and look ahead planning sessions to identify constraints early and keep milestones on track.
- →Champion field quality by leading site walks, punch management, deficiency resolution, and readiness efforts for inspections, commissioning, and owner turnover.
- →Maintain thorough documentation related to safety, progress, site conditions, compliance activities, and trade coordination.
- →Promote a jobsite culture built on accountability, professionalism, and proactive problem solving.
- Projects move forward safely in active healthcare settings with strong coordination and minimal operational impact.
- Planned shutdowns and high sensitivity work are executed with preparation, communication, and control.
- Trade partners stay aligned to schedule expectations, quality standards, and site requirements.
- Project areas are maintained in a state of readiness for inspections, closeout, and client handoff.
- 2 or more years of superintendent or field leadership experience in commercial construction.
- Experience supporting healthcare, hospital, medical office, surgical, or other highly regulated occupied environments is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of field operations, subcontractor coordination, schedule management, and jobsite safety practices.
- Working knowledge of infection prevention measures, phased renovation workflows, and critical MEP systems in healthcare settings.
- Ability to communicate effectively with project teams, trade partners, inspectors, facilities personnel, and clinical stakeholders.
- OSHA 30 required. Healthcare construction, infection control, or related industry training is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management is valued, though equivalent field experience will also be considered.
