Responsibilities

  • Manage full cycle payroll for multiple U.S. employee groups, with occasional backup support for Canadian payroll activity
  • Use Workday Payroll and UKG time data to validate earnings, deductions, shift premiums, and exception items before each pay run
  • Review payroll tax balances, quarter end filings, and year end activities to support accurate multi state compliance
  • Apply collective bargaining rules and internal pay practices across both union and nonunion populations
  • Partner with HR, Finance, and site leadership to resolve pay issues, audits, off cycle payments, and employee updates
  • Maintain payroll records, reporting, and reconciliations with a strong focus on controls, confidentiality, and data accuracy
  • Identify process gaps and recommend system or workflow improvements that increase payroll efficiency and reduce errors
  • Support audits, ad hoc reporting, and payroll related projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Hands on experience with Workday Payroll
  • Background managing end to end payroll with minimal oversight
  • Experience supporting both union and nonunion employee populations
  • Strong understanding of multi state payroll compliance and payroll tax practices
  • Experience working with payroll systems and timekeeping platforms such as UKG or Kronos
  • Ability to interpret policies, pay rules, and payroll inputs with a high degree of accuracy
  • Strong Excel, reporting, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and a service-oriented approach
  • Payroll certification such as CPP or FPC is preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or other large hourly workforce environments is strongly preferred
  • Exposure to Canadian payroll support is a plus
