POSITION SUMMARY: Develops and maintains SCOPE courses as assigned by the Lead Instructional Designer.  

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Works in collaboration with course developers to design SCOPE course offerings following the parameters outlined in the course development/revision contract. 
  • Evaluates content to ensure alignment with course learning outcomes 
  • Makes decisions that support overall course development according to best practices to provide online learners with a high-quality learning experience from a biblical worldview promoting student success
  • Applies the principles of teaching and learning to the materials, lesson pages, discussions, learning activities, assessments, etc., for the online environment and places course content, images, and recordings in the BJUOnline LMS  
  • Prepares, proofreads, edits, and formats course materials according to educational standards, ensures ADA compliance, and upholds appropriate research documentation formats (MLA, APA, and Turabian) 
  • Trims and captions videos 
  • Performs other tasks as specified by the Lead Instructional Designer 

       

      REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

       

      • Ability to work with minimal supervision 
      • Strong interpersonal skills, team player
      • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
      • Excellent organizational skills; detail-oriented 
      • Ability to learn and apply new technologies 
      • Liberal arts education or broad knowledge in a variety of academic fields 
      • Experience or background in education preferred 
      • Additional Programs: Experience with LMS (Canvas preferred); experience with video management, lecture capture, and authoring software preferred
