Requirements

  • Master’s degree in quality assurance, Education, Curriculum Development, Educational Management, or another relevant field.
  • · Certification in Quality Assurance, ISO standards, or a related area will be an added advantage.
  • · Relevant experience in higher education quality assurance and academic administration is desirable.
  • · Minimum 5 years’ experience.
  • Coordinating and monitoring internal quality assurance activities.
  • Supporting the University’s reputation for excellence in teaching, learning, and research.
  • Ensuring compliance with university policies, procedures, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promoting continuous quality improvement across academic and administrative operations.
  • Providing day-to-day supervision and guidance to assigned staff.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to achieving the University’s vision and mission by supporting the development and implementation of appropriate strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Implement, maintain, and continuously improve the University’s Quality Policy and Quality Management System.
  • Build and maintain positive and effective working relationships with colleagues across all campuses, partner institutions, students, the Student Representative Council (SRC), regulatory and professional bodies, industry representatives, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain a sound understanding of the University’s academic programmes and curricula and remain informed about developments in higher education, quality assurance, regulatory requirements, and national and international labour markets.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote a conducive working, teaching, and learning environment for staff and students.
  • Promote positive staff morale, continuous learning, collaboration, and a spirit of togetherness among staff.

Provide effective academic quality assurance for all University programmes by:

  • Ensuring that the University and all programmes offered comply with applicable institutional, registration, accreditation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitoring academic activities, processes, and documentation to ensure compliance with University policies and the requirements of relevant stakeholders, including students, regulators, professional bodies, and industry.
  • Establishing and maintaining an effective system for monitoring programme development, approval, review, registration, accreditation, and renewal dates.
  • Coordinating internal and external academic quality audits, programme reviews, accreditation activities, and regulatory inspections.
  • Monitoring the implementation of recommendations and corrective actions arising from audits, programme reviews, accreditation exercises, and regulatory evaluations.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date quality assurance records, compliance evidence, programme documentation, and audit reports.
  • Supervising and providing guidance to assigned staff, allocating duties, monitoring performance, and ensuring the timely completion of assigned quality assurance activities.
  • Sound knowledge of Lesotho’s higher education system and the Lesotho Qualifications Framework (LQF).
  • Experience in curriculum development and academic administration, including the coordination and management of assessments.
  • Strong supervisory and people management skills.
  • Excellent written communication, report writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to deliver quality results and meet established deadlines.
