We’re looking for a Staff Mobile Engineer to join our Mobile team in Warsaw and help shape the future of Box’s mobile platform. Mobile is a high-visibility surface used by millions of Box customers, and this role will have significant impact on how we build and scale our mobile ecosystem over the coming years. Our mission is to deliver a world-class mobile experience that evolves in lockstep with our web product. As part of that journey, we’re investing in React Native as an important part of our long-term cross-platform strategy - while continuing to support and evolve our native mobile foundations.

- 8–10+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong focus on mobile development
- Deep experience building and scaling mobile products on iOS and/or Android, with strong understanding of mobile architecture and platform fundamentals
- Experience with cross-platform technologies such as React Native, either through hands-on delivery, platform initiatives, migrations, or collaboration with cross-platform teams
- Strong understanding of mobile engineering best practices around architecture, performance, testability, maintainability, and scalability
- Experience driving technical initiatives and influencing architecture in complex engineering organisations
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills — you know how to partner effectively with Product, Design, Platform, and Engineering teams
- Experience mentoring engineers and elevating team capabilities
- Fluent English communication skills
Bonus points for
- Experience contributing to or leading platform modernisation or architectural transformations
- Hands-on experience with React Native migrations or introducing cross-platform solutions into existing native environments
- Familiarity with web technologies (React) and how they intersect with the mobile ecosystem
- Experience working on consumer or enterprise mobile products at scale
- Strong ownership mindset and passion for building high-quality products and teams
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Define and influence the technical direction of Box’s mobile platform across iOS, Android, and cross-platform initiatives
- →Help shape the evolution of our React Native strategy and identify where cross-platform approaches provide the greatest value
- →Coach and mentor engineers, raising the bar across mobile engineering practices and architecture
- →Collaborate and drive alignment across mobile, web, platform, product, and design teams
- →Model strong engineering practices around architectural design, scalability, quality, and maintainability
- →Partner with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, and stakeholders to shape the long-term mobile roadmap
- →Contribute hands-on code (~50% of time), focusing on technically complex and high-impact areas
- →Participate in weekly stand-ups, team meetings, and manager 1:1s
- →Participate in our on-call rotation and help respond to production issues when on-call
