Responsible for building and driving the insider threat program — proactively monitoring for employee and insider risk, developing and maturing detection tools and processes, and partnering closely with the business to embed threat awareness into day-to-day operations. This role also provides oversight for employee investigations and interviews when needed, in partnership with HR or Legal. The ideal candidate operates autonomously, guides a team of peers through influence, develops junior team members, synthesizes data to assess and escalate threats, and briefs senior leadership. This role also contributes to strategic planning and helps shepherd the firm's insider threat capabilities forward as the technology and threat landscape evolves.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Own and evolve the insider threat program, including proactive monitoring strategy, tooling, and detection capabilities.
- →Lead project development for new insider threat initiatives — scoping, planning, and driving cross-functional work to completion.
- →Partner with business stakeholders across the firm to build insider threat awareness, gather input on risk areas, and align monitoring priorities with business needs.
- →Synthesize data and threat signals, weigh severity, and escalate appropriately to senior leadership.
- →Stay current on industry trends, tools, and technologies, and champion adoption of new capabilities to keep the program ahead of emerging threats.
- →Operate autonomously, exercising sound judgment and taking initiative on security matters.
- →Guide and develop a team of peers and more junior staff, providing mentorship and growth opportunities.
- →Contribute to strategic planning and the long-term roadmap for staff security and insider threat.
- →Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and training programs related to insider threat.
- →Provide oversight and direction for employee investigations when needed, including investigative interviewing in partnership with HR or Legal.
- →Brief senior leaders on insider threat posture, program progress, and key risks, with clear recommendations.
Requirements
~3 min read- Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Information Technology, Organizational Science, Organizational Psychology, Criminal Justice, Sociology, Criminology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in insider threat, staff security, security program development, or a related role.
- Strong understanding of security technologies and monitoring tools used in the industry.
- Project management skills — able to scope, plan, and drive initiatives to deadline.
- Proven ability to operate autonomously and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; comfort synthesizing data to assess risk.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with experience partnering across business functions.
- Ability to think strategically and contribute to program-level planning.
- Leadership experience, including mentoring or guiding team members without direct authority.
- Interview and investigative skills a plus, for occasional case work in partnership with HR/Legal.
- Knowledge of best practices in insider threat detection and employee risk management a plus.

The wage range for this role is $225,000 - $375,000 inclusive of base salary and discretionary target bonus. The expected base salary for this role is between 70% - 80% of this wage range.
