Position Summary
We are seeking a Payments Operations Specialist to support payment processing, customer verification, reconciliations, compliance reviews, and payment-related issue resolution. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate payment operations, supporting fraud prevention and risk controls, and driving operational efficiency across the payment lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Review and verify customer payment transactions, including KYC and identity validation activities.
Support payment processing activities, including ACH/NACHA file reviews, payment tracking, and reconciliations.
Investigate payment exceptions, discrepancies, refund requests, chargebacks, and transaction-related issues.
Apply payment policies, operational procedures, and compliance controls consistently.
Support fraud prevention, sanctions screening, dispute management, and regulatory compliance processes.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve payment-related issues and support operational objectives.
Communicate with customers as needed to support payment verification and authorization activities.
Identify process improvements, operational risks, and control gaps to improve efficiency, accuracy, and customer experience.
Required Qualifications
2+ years of experience in Payments Operations, Financial Services Operations, Payment Processing, Risk Operations, Fraud Prevention, Compliance, KYC, Trust & Safety, or related operational functions.
Experience investigating payment-related issues and conducting root-cause analysis.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume operational environment.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Required Skills
Experience with payment processing, transaction reviews, and reconciliations.
Knowledge of ACH/NACHA operations, KYC, fraud prevention, and compliance processes.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
Strong organizational, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting fintech, banking, payments, marketplace, or financial services environments.
Familiarity with payment disputes, refunds, transaction monitoring, and operational controls.
Experience working with compliance and regulatory requirements related to payments.
Individual Contributor position
Focused on payments operations, customer verification, compliance support, reconciliations, and operational risk management
May require flexibility to support critical payment processing windows and business operational needs
