The Department for Education has announced that the British Council is set to take on the role of National Agency for Erasmus+. In December the UK and EU arrived at a political agreement that the UK would rejoin the Erasmus+ scheme in 2027. That agreement has now been legally formalised under the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement. The British Council has a longstanding commitment to supporting international exchange. It was a lead partner in the Erasmus+ UK National Agency from 2014-20, where Erasmus+ made a significant contribution to the UK's cultural relations activities, funding 8,091 projects, engaging 583,757 UK participants, and awarding around €1.1 billion to UK organisations. Job Title: Erasmus+ Senior Inclusion Manager Pay Band: Grade 8 Salary: £38,820 gross per annum plus £3,300 per annum London Market Allowance for those in the London area only. Contract Duration: 2 Year Fixed Term Contract with possibility of extension Location: Any Location within the UK Right to Work Requirements: Current right to work in the UK. Role Purpose: The Senior Inclusion Manager will support the development and delivery of the Erasmus+ Inclusion and Diversity strategy, ensuring inclusive practices are embedded throughout programme delivery. The role provides expert advice and guidance to applicants and beneficiaries, supports sector engagement and marketing initiatives that promote inclusion and diversity, delivers training and capacity-building for staff and stakeholders, and manages key stakeholder relationships to advance inclusion priorities across target sectors. Main Responsibilities: * Leading the delivery of the Erasmus+ Inclusion and Diversity Strategy and annual action plans across the UK. * Managing and developing an Inclusion Manager while promoting collaboration, innovation, and accountability. * Providing expert advice on inclusion, diversity, equality, and anti-racism across the Education, Training, Youth, and Sports sectors. * Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and representing the National Agency at sector events. * Supporting Erasmus+ applicants and beneficiaries to embed inclusion and diversity within their projects. * Designing and delivering training, workshops, guidance materials, and best practice resources on inclusion and diversity. * Collaborating with sector, marketing, communications, and delivery teams to ensure inclusive and accessible activities. * Promoting and sharing good practice, case studies, and learning to increase participation from underrepresented groups. * Monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on inclusion and diversity outcomes to drive continuous improvement. * Enhancing the visibility and reputation of the British Council and National Agency on inclusion and diversity priorities. Role Specific Knowledge & Experience: Essential * Knowledge of inclusion and diversity policy and practice in the UK and internationally. * Experience of embedding inclusion and diversity across programme design, delivery, monitoring, and evaluation. * Experience of working with dispersed teams to deliver programme or project objectives. * Experience of providing advice and guidance to stakeholders to support inclusive practice. * Experience of developing and delivering training, tools, or guidance to build inclusion capability. Desirable * Knowledge of safeguarding practice in education, youth, or international programme settings. * Experience of working in grant-funded, public sector, or international programme environments. * Experience of supporting organisations working with underrepresented or disadvantaged groups. Specific Requirements * Degree or equivalent work experience.
