We are an established countertop fabrication and installation company with approximately 100 employees serving residential and commercial clients. We are committed to operational excellence, quality craftsmanship, and exceptional customer service and are actively seeking an experienced Director of Operations with deep stone industry expertise to lead and scale our production and field operations.
The Director of Operations oversees all aspects of fabrication and installation operations, including templating, scheduling, production, warehouse, logistics, installation, and service.
This executive leader will drive efficiency, profitability, accountability, and system implementation across the organization. The ideal candidate has extensive stone industry experience and understands how to build scalable systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Oversee end-to-end production from template to final installation
- →Drive on-time completion, production efficiency, and quality standards
- →Develop, track, and improve KPIs (cycle time, remakes, margins, labor efficiency, safety)
- →Optimize workflow, scheduling, and shop floor operations
- →Ensure CNC and fabrication equipment performance and preventative maintenance
- →Lead and optimize operational systems, including Moraware (preferred)
- →Improve scheduling accuracy, job costing, and production tracking
- →Implement SOPs and process improvements across departments
- →Use data and reporting tools to improve decision-making and performance
- →Lead, mentor, and develop managers, supervisors, and production teams (100+ employees)
- →Establish accountability standards and performance metrics
- →Recruit and retain skilled fabrication and installation professionals
- →Foster a culture of ownership, safety, and continuous improvement
- →Manage operational budgets and cost controls
- →Analyze P&L performance and job costing to improve margins
- →Align operational capacity with sales forecasts and growth plans
- →Lead capital investment and equipment planning initiatives
- →Maintain high fabrication and installation standards
- →Reduce remakes, callbacks, and warranty costs
- →Ensure OSHA compliance and enforce safety protocols
Requirements
~1 min read- 5–10+ years of countertop/stone fabrication industry experience (Required)
- 5+ years of senior operations leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of natural stone, quartz, and solid surface fabrication
- Experience managing teams of 50–100+ employees
- Proven success improving operational efficiency and profitability
- Experience implementing KPIs, SOPs, and structured production systems
- Strong financial acumen and data-driven leadership
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
Requirements
~1 min read- Experience working with Moraware software (strongly preferred)
- Experience in a $10M+ revenue manufacturing environment
- Lean manufacturing or process improvement background
- ERP or production scheduling system experience
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
