- The Material Handler is required to operate either a crane or a forklift (as needed) in order to move, stack, and load, offload and transfer goods within the Kliprivier work environment.
- Employee is not subjected to work only on one machine line because they spend most time there, the employer or any other senior employer may request you to another machine line or department, safe work instruction, user manual, risk assessment training will be communicated/performed beforehand to familiarize yourself with the machine/department.
- Furthermore, employee shall assist anywhere on the KR site as long as the employee has the required qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience to do such tasks safely, legally and to do the desired performance standard and has been officially instructed by their line manager, or another senior member of their team, to perform in such an alternative capacity.
- Operate the crane or forklift to lift and move, load and offload material safely
- Stacking and storing material in designated areas.
- After processing make sure all material is properly identified (Especially details on Labels reflecting the Correct Grade, material type, correct warehouse, material configuration and quality must be checked
- Do visual Quality checks
- Achieving daily production targets
- Inspect material for conformance to regulations and customer requirements: visual inspection of material (incoming slits & processed material)
- Weighing line off cuts and weighting removing material coming off processing.
- Loading, offloading and receiving material (Correct Grade and material type must be checked)
- Reporting any damage material during material movement
- Perform quality checks and examine products for defects to ensure customer satisfaction
- Ensure all stock is labelled before being moved
- Proper shift handover must be done
- Picking and transferring material (Dispatch) to different departments.
- Assisting filling in the GRN for the material returned by the customer (Dispatch)
- Verification of incoming material against the POD and outgoing material against the invoice (Dispatch)
- The employee will perform any other reasonable duties and tasks as required
- Move finished goods from machine centre
- Employee is to report on the workstation in time when their shift starts and leave when their shift ends, also go to lunch and come back at the right time.
- In cases of removing finished products from processing lines or moving coils to WIP machines must always be prioritized.
- Movement and offloading of pallets, wood and consumables (Process lines)
- Assure that before you leave the required pallets are available (Forklift)
- Assist during Stock take counts and preparation.
