With over 130 years of sugar industry experience, Bundaberg Sugar plays a major role in the Australian sugar industry and is a grower miller, refiner and marketer of sugar and related products in Australia. The company is one of Australia's largest cane grower and owns and operates a sugar mill, a refinery and packaging plant in Bundaberg.
Iconic Company, Bundaberg Sugar Ltd currently has a great opportunity available for a Quality Assurance Officer. The successful applicant will be responsible in assisting in the planning and implementation of quality systems and HACCP food safety system program.
Reporting to the Quality Coordinator, this role offers an excellent opportunity to develop and secure your career in the sugar industry with a focus on Quality assurance and systems.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Maintaining and updating the Quality Management Systems and other related documents and reports.
- Schedule and conduct factory audits including GMP.
- Schedule external testing of product samples and calibrations.
- Update approved suppliers program and liaise with suppliers.
- Maintain the certificate of analysis system.
- Review records including cleaning, CCP checks, and other relevant food safety documents for compliance.
- Promoting and educating good quality practices in the workplace.
- Providing advice on quality and food safety compliance related matters with operations team and customer service team.
- Investigating complaints and non-conformances.
- Conducting internal audits and provide support for external audits.
- Analysing, interpreting and reviewing current operational data and methods to maintain and enhance production efficiencies along with in-specification products.
- Participating in ensuring established targets and goals are met.
Requirements
~1 min readWe are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person who takes initiative and possesses the following;
- 3+ years hands-on experience in a technical or Quality & Food Safety related role preferably in the food processing industry.
- Factory audit experience is highly regarded with related standard such as BRC or other GFSI equivalent standard.
- Qualifications (successful Internal Auditor training or HACCP) in Quality & Food Safety Management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and quality management systems.
- Current drivers licence.
