We provide accounting, payroll, tax preparation, tax planning, tax resolution, and CFO advisory services. Our mission is to become the most trusted financial partner for small business owners by combining U.S. CPA leadership with highly skilled accounting and tax professionals based in India. We are seeking a highly practical and experienced U.S. Tax & Accounting Manager who has worked with multiple U.S. CPA firms or through an offshore accounting/tax outsourcing organization serving numerous U.S. CPA firm clients. This is a hands-on management role, not a purely compliance-focused tax position. Working Hours: Monday through Friday, 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM (IST) (One hour break from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM IST). Home Office Requirements To ensure productivity and uninterrupted work, candidates must have: A dedicated, quiet, and distraction-free workspace A laptop with dual monitors High-speed internet with minimum speeds of: 150 Mbps download 9 Mbps upload (Test your speed at www.speedtest.net) Backup internet solution (e.g., mobile hotspot or alternate broadband) Reliable power supply with a backup source (e.g., inverter or UPS) Noise-cancelling headset for virtual meetings. Position Summary The U.S. Tax & Accounting Manager will oversee client accounting and tax engagements, mentor junior team members, review work quality, assist with tax planning and tax resolution projects, and serve as a technical resource for the accounting and tax team. The ideal candidate has experience working with multiple U.S. businesses across various industries and understands how accounting, payroll, sales tax, tax planning, and tax preparation work together. Key Responsibilities Accounting & Financial Review Review monthly and year-end bookkeeping engagements Review reconciliations including bank, credit card, loan, payroll, and balance sheet accounts Review financial statements and identify inconsistencies or unusual transactions Assist with cleanup and catch-up bookkeeping projects Guide staff in maintaining accurate General Ledger records Review adjusting journal entries and year-end accounting adjustments Tax Preparation & Review Prepare and review: Form 1040 Form 1040NR Form 1065 Form 1120 Form 1120S State tax returns Review workpapers and supporting schedules Identify tax risks, omissions, and planning opportunities Assist with complex business and individual tax engagements Tax Planning Identify proactive tax-saving opportunities for business owners Assist with entity selection and restructuring discussions Support quarterly tax planning engagements Analyze compensation structures, shareholder distributions, and estimated tax strategies Assist clients with year-end tax minimization planning Tax Resolution Review IRS notices and correspondence Assist with transcript analysis Support installment agreements and compliance projects Help gather documentation for tax resolution cases Coordinate with senior tax professionals on complex IRS matters Team Leadership & Mentoring Review work prepared by junior accountants and tax preparers Provide constructive feedback and coaching Assist in developing training materials and SOPs Support technical growth of team members Help develop future reviewers and senior staff Project Management Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously Monitor project deadlines and workflow progress Coordinate work among accounting and tax team members Escalate issues proactively Ensure timely and accurate client deliverables Requirements Required Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field Professional Credentials (Preferred) EA (Enrolled Agent) CPA Candidate CA Inter / CA U.S. Tax Certifications Experience 5+ years of U.S. tax and accounting experience Experience working with an India-based outsourcing firm supporting multiple U.S. CPA firms OR direct experience with multiple U.S. CPA firms Experience handling multiple client engagements simultaneously Experience reviewing staff work Required Technical Skills Accounting Strong General Ledger knowledge Financial statement review Reconciliations Adjusting journal entries Year-end cleanup work Tax Individual Tax Returns (1040) Business Tax Returns (1065, 1120, 1120S) Multi-state tax concepts Tax research Tax planning fundamentals Tax Resolution IRS notices IRS transcripts Compliance projects Installment agreement knowledge preferred Software QuickBooks Online QuickBooks Desktop Xero Drake Tax, CCH, UltraTax, Lacerte, ProConnect, or similar software Microsoft Excel (Intermediate to Advanced)
