Job Overview

The Wastewater Treatment Technician plays a key role in executing assigned Wastewater tasks. This includes monitoring, operating, and maintaining dissolved air flotation wastewater treatment systems for assigned locations while ensuring continued compliance with applicable permits. The Wastewater Treatment Technician also ensures facilities maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and permit requirements/filing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for monitoring and operating wastewater systems/equipment in person and remotely to track performance and adjust, as needed.
  • Responsible for calibrating/maintaining probes monitoring the systems.
  • Responsible for cleaning and maintaining system equipment and facilities.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment while following lockout/tagout procedures and safety protocols.
  • Troubleshoots and works with Maintenance and Engineering staff to correct and improve equipment issues, along with working with and training plant Maintenance personnel on system operation.
  • Work with chemical and equipment suppliers to optimize system performance.
  • Coordinate sampling events and compile data.
  • Complete tasks in support of the Environmental, Health & Safety department, as assigned.
  • Responsible for complying with GMP’s, SOP’s, corporate and/or plant policies, rules, and regulations. 

Min. Qualifications

  • A minimum of GED or High School Diploma is required.
  • Associate degree or higher in biology or science related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working with wastewater systems, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
