What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the development of transmission asset management strategies, studies, and tools to support decision-making, including:

    • Asset lifecycle strategy and renewal plans 

    • Prioritization and optimization framework for Capital and O&M investments

    • Asset trending and risk analysis

    • Transmission reliability analytics

    • Gap assessments and industry best-practice benchmarking studies to identify areas for improvement in the organization

  • Provide input to Transmission General Tariff Application proceedings, including business case development and responses to information requests

  • Support business planning functions by developing scope and prioritizing Capital and O&M work to align with corporate objectives, including:

    • Transmission Capital Maintenance (TCM) workplan

    • Transmission O&M workplan (both preventive and corrective maintenance)

  • Liaise with internal and third-party stakeholders (e.g., AESO) to enhance upfront work planning and ensure efforts are fully integrated 

  • Supervise team members, and be actively involved in performance management plans, coaching, and succession planning

  • Work with team members to ensure all team members have career development plans and goals are being met

  • Provide visible leadership to ensure compliance with the corporate policies and best practices related to Health, Safety and Environment

 

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation with APEGA is required.

  • 10-12 years of utility experience

  • 4-5 years of experience in a senior and/or leadership role

  • Knowledge of asset management and business planning in a Transmission & Distribution (T&D) utility is an asset

  • Understanding of a regulated utility business environment

  • Good knowledge of ATCO’s current Asset Management technologies including Maximo, ESRI, PI Historian, etc. or similar applications (e.g., SAP) is an asset

  • Facilitation skills to gather subject matter expertise and work toward consensus in the development of strategy framework and/or scope of work

  • Demonstrated experience in aligning utility decision-making processes against ISO 55000 and 55001 is an asset
