We are looking for a Drone Engineer to support digital surveying, scanning, and data integration on complex construction projects across Flanders. In this role, you will work at the intersection of construction, geospatial data, and digital engineering, helping project teams translate real-world conditions into accurate digital models.

You will use drone technology, 3D scanning, and data processing tools to support smarter planning, execution, and monitoring of construction works.
  • Perform drone flights, 3D scans, and digital surveys using photogrammetry, LiDAR, and related technologies.
  • Process point clouds and geospatial data and integrate them into BIM and GIS environments.
  • Produce digital models, maps, measurements, and analyses for engineering and project teams.
  • Support construction sites with accurate spatial data for planning, coordination, and progress tracking.
  • Advise project teams on digital workflows, scanning methodologies, and best practices.
  • Train and support site teams, BIM coordinators, and engineers in the use of drone and scanning data.
  • Maintain drones, sensors, and software tools, ensuring compliance and operational readiness.
  • Stay up to date with developments in drone technology, digital surveying, and construction digitisation.
  • Experience with drone scanning, photogrammetry, LiDAR, SLAM, or point cloud processing is a strong asset.
  • Experience with BIM and/or GIS as a modeler, coordinator, or data engineer is a plus.
  • Familiarity with construction environments (site, planning, engineering, or methods) is highly valued.
  • Analytical, precise, and solution-oriented.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Curious, innovative, and eager to learn.
  • Structured, quality-focused, and detail-oriented.
  • Degree in Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a Professional Bachelor in Construction, Surveying, Electromechanics, or a related technical field.
  • Valid drone certificates (A1–A3, A2, or Specific category).
  • SORA or STS-02 certification is an advantage.
  • BIM: Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D, Solibri
  • GIS: ArcGIS, QGIS, FME, CloudCompare, Site Scan
  • Point Clouds & Drone Software: ReCap, Cyclone, Pix4D, Metashape, DroneDeploy, DJI Terra
  • Strong affinity with IT systems and digital workflows.
  • Dutch: mandatory (site communication, training, reporting).
  • English: good working knowledge for software tools, documentation, and technical exchange.
  • A hands-on role shaping the digital construction site of tomorrow.
  • Exposure to advanced drone, scanning, and digital engineering technologies.
  • Close collaboration with engineering, BIM, and site teams on complex projects.
  • A professional, innovative environment focused on quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Competitive compensation package with benefits and long-term development opportunities.
