We are seeking a high-caliber Engineering Design Manager to lead the coordination of engineering design activities for complex, large-scale infrastructure projects. You will be at the forefront of technically demanding projects in civil infrastructure, marine construction, and offshore environments across international markets—including Europe, Canada, South America, and Asia.

In this multidisciplinary role, you will bridge the gap between engineering concepts and real-world project execution, ensuring that designs for immersion operations (such as tunnels, caissons, and wind turbine foundations) are robust, safe, and efficient.
  • Lead the Design Lifecycle: Take full responsibility for the design traject of complex international projects, ensuring the right composition of quality and capacity within the team.
  • Technical Oversight: Oversee the design of specialized components including immersion pontoons, bulkheads, and ballast systems.
  • Field Integration: You won't just be behind a desk; you will regularly go on-site to witness immersion operations firsthand, ensuring seamless cohesion between design and execution.
  • Multidisciplinary Management: Coordinate structural, geotechnical, and marine specialists while acting as the primary technical interface for project management.
  • Quality & Risk: Review and validate all engineering deliverables (drawings, FEM, and CAD calculations) to ensure technical integrity and safety.
  • Innovation: Stimulate the development of new design and immersion methodologies to improve constructability and technical performance.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (HBO/WO) in Civil Engineering with a strong structural/constructive specialization.
  • Experience: A minimum of 7 years of engineering design experience within civil infrastructure, offshore, maritime, or the dredging industry.
  • Technical Expertise: Proven affinity with and experience in designing (maritime) steel structures and proficiency with design software like CAD and FEM.
  • Leadership: A natural leader who can motivate teams, structure complex workflows, and switch effortlessly between technical details and client objectives.
  • Languages: Fluency in Dutch and English is required; proficiency in German is a strong advantage.
  • Work-Life Balance: An industry-leading more than 40 vacation days per year.
  • Compensation: Excellent primary and secondary conditions according to the Bouw-CAO, including a pension scheme and profit-sharing.
  • Tools for Success: A company car, laptop, and phone are provided.
  • Environment: A warm, entrepreneurial "family-style" culture that prioritizes long-term job security and personal development.
  • Impact: A central role where your engineering decisions directly influence the delivery of major global infrastructure.
