The Shop Mechanic reports to our main office in Commerce Township, and is often dispatched to our job locations, which can be found all over the state of Michigan.

Pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background checks are required. 

Shop Mechanic qualifications and duties include, but are not limited to:

• Performing routine truck and equipment maintenance and inspections
• Servicing a variety of vehicles and equipment, including trucks, excavators, loaders, dozers, cranes, generators, air compressors, and specialty equipment
• Troubleshooting and making general repairs
• Operating a variety of hand and power tools
• Possess a CDL license, or be willing to obtain a Commercial Driver License CDL) within 1 year of employment
• Working outdoors in all weather conditions; including but not limited to, snow, rain and varying temperatures
• Working at heights with the use of mobile equipment and ladders
• Frequently required to stand, use hands to hold hand and power tools, finger/handle/feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, talk or hear. Occasionally, the work requires the employee to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
• Working safely near and around highway traffic and noisy operations
• Ability to lift or carry up to 10 or 25 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs
