The Vehicle and Equipment Repair Technician is located in Meaford at the Army Training Centre – Central and typically reports directly to the Repair Supervisor. Their primary focus is repairing automotive and heavy equipment, small engines, buses and miscellaneous equipment.

• →Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles and heavy equipment.
• →Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues accurately.

• →Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with safety and performance standards.
• →Replace or repair defective parts using appropriate tools and techniques.

• →Maintain detailed service records and documentation.
• →Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe at all times.

• →Look up and order parts as required

• Must have 310T
  
• Truck and Coach Technician (preferred) and/or Automotive Service Technician
  

• Valid DZ-Class Driver License
• Clean driving record
• 2 years’ mechanical experience

Proficient knowledge and understanding of:

• Know the correct use, maintenance and safety procedures of the hand tools and powered equipment related to this type of work while applying that knowledge
• Knowledge of air brakes and hydraulic systems
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Must be able to achieve and maintain a Government of Canada Security Clearance

Individuals who successfully complete the interview process and do not already hold a valid security clearance will be sponsored for Secret Security Clearance. To obtain a Secret Security Clearance from the Government of Canada, applicants must undergo a comprehensive 10-year background check. This includes financial and criminal record checks, as well as a security assessment conducted by the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS). Applicants will be required to provide detailed information covering the past 10 years, including employment, education, and residency history. For this reason, continuous residency in Canada for the last 10 years is a mandatory requirement.
