We are looking for a individual with strong Retail Banking Payments experience to join our team and support client engagements across payments strategy, transformation and advisory.

The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of the payments ecosystem, including payment rails, payment gateways, and domestic and cross-border payment flows. You will work closely with client stakeholders to understand business challenges, conduct discovery and analysis, and translate findings into structured recommendations and high-quality client deliverables.

This role is well suited to someone who combines payments domain expertise with strong consulting, analytical and communication skills.


Responsibilities

  • Support and deliver client engagements across retail banking payments, including payments strategy, transformation, capability assessment and related initiatives.
  • Apply strong knowledge of payment rails, payment gateways and end-to-end payment flows to analyse client challenges and identify opportunities.
  • Conduct discovery activities, including stakeholder interviews, workshops, current-state assessments and requirements gathering.
  • Analyse existing payment capabilities, processes and customer journeys to identify gaps, pain points and opportunities for improvement.
  • Assess the impact of relevant regulatory requirements and industry developments on domestic and cross-border payment propositions.
  • Structure complex or ambiguous problems and translate analysis into clear insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Develop high-quality, client-ready presentations and executive-level materials, with a clear storyline and compelling supporting analysis.
  • Facilitate or support client workshops and stakeholder discussions, capturing key decisions, outcomes and next steps.
  • Collaborate with business, technology, operations, risk and compliance stakeholders to support the delivery of payment-related initiatives.
  • Contribute to internal capability development and thought leadership across payments and banking.

  • Relevant professional experience in retail banking payments, gained within consulting, banking, financial services, fintech or a related environment.
  • Strong understanding of the payments ecosystem, including payment rails, payment gateways and payment processing flows is mandatory.
  • Good understanding of the local payments and regulatory landscape, covering both domestic and cross-border payments.
  • Ability to understand the interaction between business processes, technology, operations and regulatory considerations within payments.
  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with complex or ambiguous requirements.
  • Excellent PowerPoint and slide-writing capabilities, including the ability to develop concise, structured and senior-management-ready materials.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin (as will be working closely with technology team based in China).
  • Previous experience in consulting, advisory or discovery engagements is highly desirable.
