As an Assay Development Scientist within our Genomics Services team, you will be responsible for the development, validation, and implementation of high-quality qPCR, dPCR, and NGS assays for use in clinical trials, leveraging state-of-the-art RNA and DNA technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, plan, and execute complex technical and laboratory studies; write protocols and review and approve documentation in accordance with design control procedures
  • Perform laboratory activities supporting the development, validation, and implementation of assays across multiple workflows
  • Troubleshoot, interpret, and analyze data; evaluate and document studies; and present results in technical reports
  • Collaborate with internal teams and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality and regulatory requirements
  • Prepare and present scientific data for internal and external projects
  • Organize, lead, and participate in departmental and client meetings
  • Master’s degree or PhD in Life Sciences (preferably Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Bioengineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or Biochemistry) or an equivalent discipline

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in assay development or a related role within a highly regulated environment
  • Strong foundation in molecular genetics and genomics technologies
  • Hands-on experience in assay development using qPCR, dPCR, and/or NGS technologies
  • Experience working in a regulated environment (ISO 13485) is considered an asset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Results-oriented, analytical, and creative thinker with a proactive approach
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
  • High level of accountability and attention to detail
  • Strong troubleshooting, data analysis, and interpretation skills
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and diplomatic team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Demonstrated eagerness to learn and apply new concepts and technologies
  • Full-time, permanent position with a hybrid work schedule requiring a minimum of three days onsite per week
