We are seeking an engaging, patient-focused Lifestyle Coach to support individuals participating in clinical trials evaluating new approaches to cardiovascular health, weight management, and cardiometabolic disease.

In this fully virtual role, you will meet with clinical trial participants through scheduled telehealth visits and provide structured coaching and education focused on healthy eating habits, physical activity, wellness, and sustainable lifestyle change.

This is not a clinical research coordinator position, and a Registered Dietitian credential is not required. The Lifestyle Coach will work within study-specific guidelines and educational materials to help participants establish goals, identify barriers, build healthy habits, and remain engaged in lifestyle changes throughout their clinical trial participation.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct scheduled virtual lifestyle coaching visits with clinical trial participants.
  • Provide protocol-directed education and coaching related to healthy eating, physical activity, wellness, and behavioral change.
  • Help participants establish realistic and achievable lifestyle goals.
  • Work with participants to identify barriers and develop practical strategies to support healthier habits.
  • Discuss progress, successes, challenges, and barriers during follow-up visits.
  • Use motivational interviewing and other behavior-change techniques to encourage participant engagement and sustainable change.
  • Reinforce general principles related to balanced food choices, portion awareness, meal planning, hydration, physical activity, sleep, and overall wellness.

  • Collaborate with physicians, research coordinators, and other members of the clinical trial team.
  • Maintain participant confidentiality and follow HIPAA, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and applicable clinical research requirements.

The Lifestyle Coach does not independently diagnose or treat medical conditions, provide individualized medical nutrition therapy, recommend changes to medications or study treatment, or provide medical advice.

Questions regarding medications, symptoms, adverse events, or other clinical concerns will be referred to the appropriate member of the clinical research team.

We are interested in candidates with backgrounds in health and wellness coaching, exercise science, health education, nutrition education, behavioral science, public health, fitness, or other related fields.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in health sciences, exercise science, nutrition, public health, health education, psychology, behavioral science, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in health coaching, wellness, weight management, patient education, fitness, or behavior-change programs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to establish meaningful rapport with patients in a virtual environment.
  • An encouraging, nonjudgmental approach to discussing weight, nutrition, activity, and lifestyle behaviors.
  • Ability to motivate individuals while recognizing that sustainable change looks different for every participant.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfort learning and working within structured clinical trial protocols.
  • Ability to learn electronic documentation and clinical research systems quickly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while remaining closely connected with the clinical research team.

If you are passionate about helping people make meaningful, sustainable lifestyle changes and are interested in contributing to clinical research, we would love to hear from you.

Clinical research is about more than evaluating a treatment. Many studies also seek to understand how nutrition, physical activity, behavioral change, and sustainable healthy habits can contribute to better health outcomes.

As a Clinical Trial Lifestyle Coach, you will develop ongoing relationships with study participants—helping them establish goals, work through barriers, recognize progress, and build healthier habits while they contribute to research that may shape future approaches to cardiovascular and metabolic health.
