Product Compliance Manager
Quick Summary
The Job We're looking for a detail-oriented, business-minded compliance professional to own product compliance across Cardless's card programs, credit and debit.
We're looking for a detail-oriented, business-minded compliance professional to own product compliance across Cardless's card programs, credit and debit. This role sits at the intersection of compliance, product, and the business, advising on new card programs and features, product terms, pricing and fee disclosures, and application and servicing flows so they meet regulatory and partner bank requirements across the product lifecycle. As a Product Compliance Manager, you'll review product features, terms, and disclosure packages for regulatory issues and advise product and business teams on practical, customer-friendly ways to get to a compliant answer. This is the product compliance and advisory work our compliance leadership does today, and you'll take it over and build it out.
Cardless is a program manager that partners with FDIC- and OCC-regulated issuing banks to design and deliver co-branded credit and debit card programs. Our compliance team operates within this bank partnership model, which means your advice and reviews must account for obligations across multiple bank partners with different regulatory expectations and approval processes. Understanding the program-manager structure is key to succeeding in this role.
This is a hands-on, individual-contributor role with no direct reports. You'll personally run the product-compliance reviews and advisory and build the function itself, turning today's informal, case-by-case approach into clear product-review checklists, advisory intake, sign-off workflows, and audit-ready records, rather than maintaining a program that already exists.
This is a strong opportunity for a compliance professional with real product and regulatory depth who wants hands-on ownership of card product compliance in a fast-paced, high-growth fintech, and who is eager to lean in and grow with a strong compliance team.

Requirements
~1 min readTypically 4 to 7 years of experience in compliance, legal, or regulatory advisory within banking, fintech, or consumer financial services, with hands-on product or regulatory compliance work.
Hands-on experience reviewing and advising on consumer financial product features, terms, pricing and fee disclosures, or application and servicing flows for regulatory compliance.
Working knowledge of consumer protection regulations across credit and debit card products (Regulation Z, Regulation E, Regulation DD, Regulation B, UDAAP, FCRA).
Ability to interpret regulation and translate it into practical, customer-friendly product guidance, with the judgment to reason through novel features where the rule is not directly on point.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to give business teams a defensible recommendation, not just a flag.
Ability to manage multiple product workstreams and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
A collaborative, advisory mindset and comfort partnering cross-functionally with product, business, design, and operations teams.
Comfort using AI tools to work more efficiently and expand coverage.
Proven ability to operate independently, without a defined playbook or daily check-ins.
Nice to Have
~1 min readHands-on experience across both credit and debit card products.
CRCM or another consumer-compliance certification.
Exposure to fintech or partner-bank program structures.
Experience standing up or maturing a product-compliance function.
Interest in consumer finance, loyalty programs, and card products.
Curiosity about how compliance can enable responsible, innovative growth.
A few things worth knowing:
We work in the office 5 days a week. We know that's a dealbreaker for some people, and that's okay.
This is an early-stage company. We're a small team servicing hundreds of thousands of customers. You'll be building processes that don't exist yet, not optimizing ones that do. If you want structure handed to you, this isn't the right fit.
You'll need to be highly self-directed. There isn't a playbook for this role, and you won't get daily check-ins. We're looking for someone who sees what's broken or missing, takes ownership, and follows through without being asked.
The pace is intense and this role is hands-on. We have aggressive goals and a lot to build. This isn't a 9-to-5, quiet, maintenance-mode compliance job, and you'll be in the middle of everything.
If that scared you off, no hard feelings. If it got you excited, keep reading.
Own product compliance for a growing set of credit and debit card programs, with direct influence on what gets built and how new programs and features come to market.
Take over the product-compliance and advisory work our compliance leadership does today, advising the business across the full product lifecycle.
Build the function, not inherit it. You'll turn an informal, case-by-case advisory approach into clear product-review checklists, sign-off workflows, and audit-ready records.
Work across multiple bank-partner relationships with different regulatory expectations, giving you broader exposure than a single-institution role.
Be part of a well-respected compliance team and culture, with high autonomy, cool projects, and room to grow.
