CARE Canada is looking for a Senior Manager, Grants Finance & Compliance   ABOUT THE ROLE   Reporting to Deputy Director, the Senior Manager, Grants Finance & Compliance will lead and support a team of Managers, Grants Finance & Compliance and conduct several processes to meet operational and contractual requirements that support the effective management of various development projects. This position is accountable for the development of systems for effective project financial management, ensuring the funds are used for the intended purpose, donor compliance requirements, support the development of project proposal budgets, oversee the analysis on project expenditure against budgets, investigating variances and provide risk mitigation.     This involves project accounting cycle, continuous review, update and analysis of the portfolio performance of projects to ensure adequate planning, forecasting and measurement of the Outcome Area budget targets. The incumbent is also expected to provide coaching, technical advice, and capacity building to Grants Manager direct reports and CO’s/Partner project finance staff.   WHAT YOU BRING   University degree in Accounting  A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a senior financial role Comprehensive knowledge and skills in contracts negotiations with various Government agencies (GAC), international UN agencies & private donors. An ability to readily see the financial and reporting implications of the terms and conditions in donor contracts A thorough understanding of budgetary processes and variance analysis A thorough understanding of accounting processes as they impact on the overall financial system A good appreciation of the need to provide timely and reliable information to senior management and to donors Excellent oral and written communication skills in English Ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance personnel in a simple manner, without the technical / accounting jargon Willingness and ability to travel internationally (a valid passport will be required) Strong computer skills specifically in Excel, Outlook and the Windows operating environment Strong Financial analytical skills  Experience with analytical tools like PowerBI, creating dashboards and working with SQL databases Strong Management skills  Strong organizational skills; ability to multi-task, and/or provide timely feedback on an as needed and/or urgent basis Strong ability to meet deadlines Keen attention to detail Good budgeting and financial management skills  Good oral and written communication skills  Strong ability to understand and analyze financial information, determine and mitigate risk  Cultural sensitivity, empathy, ability to work under stress required;  Superior interpersonal skills, with a preference to working as part of a team for a diverse group of individuals with competing priorities  Strong leadership, autonomy, and integrity  Ability to communicate and negotiate with donors officials locally and at HQ  Ability to communicate with senior management at country office level and at HQ    WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU EXTRAORDINARY   Fluency in French or Spanish (English/French or English/Spanish) would be an asset Experience working for an International non-government organisation (INGO)  Experience leading finance staff with strong people management skills   Professional accounting designation (i.e. CA, CMA, CGA)    REQUIREMENTS   Promote and maintain an organizational culture that advances gender equality, reduces power abuse and inequalities, and fosters trust and safety.     Create an environment within CARE's workplaces, programming, and communities where CARE works that is free from sexual harassment, sexual abuse and sexual exploitation and child abuse (SHEA-CA).     Ensure high standards of prevention and response measures for SHEA-CA are in place consistent with the CARE International (CI) Safeguarding Policy and Safeguarding Code of Conduct.    WHAT WE OFFER   Starting salary between $90,000 - $95,000 Comprehensive benefits package, providing family coverage for a wide range of services, including paramedical services, gender-affirming care, mental health support, and access to a confidential Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
