The Retail Web Technology (RWT) organization leads the development and maintenance of Schwab's premier digital platform for retail clients - individual investors just like you. We also Support Retirement Plan Services (RPS) web platform.

As a Sr IT Project Manager, you will be responsible for establishing and leading enterprise‑wide, cross‑functional strategic initiatives within the Retail and Retirement web technology area. Leading a variety of project types, including the delivery of technology solutions, large‑scale application development, systems integration, operational efficiency improvements, process reengineering, and infrastructure upgrades and deployments that will support the retail and retirement technology teams to deliver exceptional web experience to customers. As Schwab transitions to a scaled agile model, this role requires a blend of traditional project management expertise and scaled agile methodology experience, partnering closely with business, technology, and risk stakeholders to deliver outcomes that enhance customer experience and help technology teams to build compelling interactive web applications.

• →Lead and coordinate new initiatives to support the technical and business strategy of the organization
• →Plan the delivery of the multi-team initiatives and activities
• →Drive large, complex projects to completion and execute roadmaps, while championing business and technical goals
• →Manage interdependencies across a high number of scrum teams and organizations
• →Liaise with a diverse set of stakeholders to ensure needs and expectations are met
• →Work across specialized business and technical partners to broker decisions and negotiate trade-offs
• →Translate complex information into clear, actionable insights for business partners
• →Communicate effectively at an executive and team level
• →Mediate and resolve conflicts, maintain a strategic focus when making decisions
• →Demonstrate sound judgment regarding decisions and escalations with complete information
• →Provide supervision and direction to project teams to ensure successful execution
• →Ensure quality and evidence of project documentation
• →Understanding of Agile processes, team velocity and the ability to forecast progress accordingly
• →Collaborate across Design, Development, QA, Operations, and Governance teams to help remove roadblocks
• →Coordinate with external vendors and internal technical and legal teams to manage relationships and contractual agreements 

To ensure that we have fulfilled our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

• BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience
• Current working experience with Schwab systems and processes
• 8+ years of project management experience, managing multiple large, complex and cross functional projects, with emphasis on product development, systems, and technical environments
• 5+ years of experience with project management tools and artifacts, including MS Project, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, project budgets, change requests, status reports, etc.
• Experience using AI tools to optimize your project management capability.
• Demonstrated ability to mobilize and motivate teams, set direction and approach, resolve conflict, deliver tough messages with grace
• Proven experience with and understanding of various software development methodologies, including Agile/Scrum
• Proven ability to quickly build relationships and earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders
• Demonstrated, applied experience establishing and delivering complex projects

• Financial industry experience
• Experience in a scaled agile environment
• PMP or PMI-ACP certification
