Within STS, the Broker Dealer Services Engineering (BDSE) SAvE team is seeking an experienced Senior Production Support Engineer to support critical broker-dealer back-office applications and infrastructure. In this role, you will collaborate with top engineering talent to enhance the availability, stability, and regulatory compliance of key internal platforms.
Customer Relationship Technology (CRT) leads the development of scalable, client-centric communication solutions across multiple delivery channels. CRT’s product portfolio includes brokerage and banking statements, tax documents, trade confirmations, operational and marketing communications, and regulatory forms.
The Data Archival & Regulatory Reporting platform plays a vital role in safeguarding Charles Schwab Corporation’s regulatory data. It delivers secure, compliant, and highly reliable data archival systems that support accurate client communications and timely regulatory reporting. Built on a resilient architecture, the platform emphasizes data accessibility, security, and long-term preservation. The team continuously drives innovation and process improvements to stay ahead of evolving regulatory requirements, ensuring Schwab maintains the highest standards of compliance, transparency, and client trust.
The ideal candidate brings experience in a technical leadership capacity and is skilled in managing complex, data-intensive platforms. This individual will collaborate closely with data providers and cross-functional teams to identify and resolve data-related issues, while aligning SAvE operating practices with the broader Cross Enterprise Services (CES) organization.
Core Experience & Skills
5–7 years of experience in production support, site reliability, or technical operations, supporting enterprise-grade applications within financial services or other highly regulated environments
Proven ability to lead complex incident response efforts, perform root cause analysis, and drive post-incident reviews across distributed and mainframe systems
Experience supporting back-office and client-facing financial platforms, including statements, trade confirmations, tax documentation, and regulatory reporting systems
Strong understanding of data archival principles, data lifecycle management, and regulatory compliance requirements
Ability to partner effectively with architects and product teams to identify and resolve data discrepancies impacting reporting deliverables
Demonstrated success collaborating with data providers, vendor partners, and cross-functional engineering teams to address data quality issues and pipeline gaps
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical issues into concise, actionable updates for senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders
Experience working within SRE or SAvE (Service Availability Engineering) models, with a strong focus on system availability, reliability, and continuous improvement
Proven ability to collaborate with product owners and business partners to identify data gaps and influence data providers to resolve discrepancies within source systems
Strong ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
Relationship-oriented mindset with the ability to build strong partnerships and collaborate effectively across multiple functions and levels within the organization

Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and infrastructure automation
Strong aptitude for leveraging AI and automation to improve operational efficiency, including practical experience with tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code
Working knowledge of agentic workflows, prompt engineering, and custom AI instructions, with the ability to establish team-level best practices for AI-assisted solutions
Hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB), including the ability to troubleshoot data integrity issues across upstream and downstream systems
Proficiency with monitoring, alerting, and observability tools such as Splunk, Grafana, or equivalent platforms
Experience with Python or other scripting languages
Familiarity with message-driven architectures and streaming platforms (e.g., MQ or similar technologies)
