Telecommunications Mechanic I

Abacus Technology is seeking a Telecommunications Mechanic to provide support for cable installation and maintenance at Tinker AFB.  This is a full-time position.

• →Complete work orders and other services as directed by the Site Manager under the BTS contracts. 
• →Install, remove, maintain, modify, troubleshoot and repair voice and/or non-voice communication systems. 
• →Run cable, key cable, or house wire to all telephone sets, terminal connectors, lugs, pins, or screws, associated with key telephone equipment and/or terminating equipment for non-voice circuits.

3 years experience in copper and fiber installation.  Experience with fiber optic, coaxial, and copper cable as well as protected terminals and grounding systems.  Knowledge of CAT 6 and cable testing experience.  Experience with fiber splicing.  Must be physically able to perform heavy lifting and pole climbing as well as be willing to work in enclosed spaces or inclement weather.  Must be a US citizen.
