STAFF NURSE I

The Staff Nurse is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for the assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for patients and their families in emergency services in compliance with the standards for care at Seton Medical Center, AHMC and Nurse Practice Act.

After initial triage evaluation, completes and documents an assessment, focusing on abnormal systems and actual and potential problems.  Performs ongoing assessment as indicated.

• Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.  
• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing preferred.

• Staff Nurse I–  New grad or less than six months of experience as a Registered Nurse 

• • Current California licensure as a Registered Nurse required.  
  • Current Basic Life Support certification required.
  • Current ACLS certification.
  • Current NIHSS certification 
  • Current PALS certification
  • Current CPI certification

• Knowledgeable of the California Nursing Practice Act.  
• Able to understand and follow all policies, procedures, guidelines, rules and regulations of Nursing Service,AHMC Seton Medical Center, TJC, CMS and Title XXII.  
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
