Reporting to the Manager - Health, ERT, Security the Coordinator - Emergency Response Team is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining required training for the site Mine Rescue Team.
Location: Blackwater Mine site - located 160 km southwest of Prince George, BC.
Schedule: Two (2) Weeks On – Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation

Responsibilities
~2 min read• Demonstrate effective safety leadership by addressing and enforcing BW Golds safety standards, procedures, and safety systems.• Ensuring our own health & safety as well as that of all other workers, identifying and maintaining safe work practices and completing all required safety training.• Developing, implementing, and maintaining required training for the site Mine Rescue Team, creation of a Credible Threat Risk Register, and an owner of the Mine Emergency Response Plan.• Oversee Mine Recue call outs and assist as requested / needed.• Assist with Mine Rescue site coverage as needed.• Supports emergency incidents, Investigations, Inspections, Incident Action Plans, Emergency Operation Centers, and as required provides support and direction to non-suppression/rescue incidents.• Developing, maintaining, & introducing safety awareness short courses and any associated safety training as required.• Maintaining personnel health and safety training records including but not limited to training-matrix status, training competency assessments, and training schedules.• Review and update Confined Space and Technical rescue plans.• Providing emergency services but not limited to, medical, rescue (confined space, high angle, trench, ice, surface water,); hazardous material response, and other related emergency services, when required, in a safe, competent, and professional manner.• Assisting with the safe introduction of new equipment and processes and developing corresponding training modules, materials & procedures, this is on an as requested and authorized basis.• Maintenance and inspections of life saving equipment, AED’s, fire extinguishers, emergency showers / eye wash stations, etc.
Requirements
~2 min read• At least 5 years of relevant safety-related training experience required.• 5 years’ experience in firefighting/rescue within a mine site or similar capacity• First Aid accreditation and Emergency Response team experience required.• A valid class 3 or 4 driver's license.• ICS 100, (200 & 300 would be considered an asset)• Surface Mine Rescue or Underground Mine Rescue• NFPA 1001 Firefighter Professional Standard Certification or NFPA 1081 Incipient and Advanced Exterior.• NFPA 1072 Hazmat Operations or Technician• NFPA 1006 • NFPA 1041 Fire Service Instructor Certification (Level 1)• NFPA 1002 Apparatus Driver Operator Certification (Preferred)• Medical responder or paramedic background would be considered an asset.• Proven experience in developing and maintaining emergency response plans and training programs.• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to emergency response and safety training.• Knowledge of incident command systems and emergency management procedures.• Previous experience conducting safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to implement effective safety solutions.• Excellent organizational and record-keeping abilities to manage training documentation and records.• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.• Familiarity with personal protective equipment (PPE) standards and requirements.• Previous experience in mining or industrial settings is highly desirable.• Experience working with the Incident Command System.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision in a fast-paced, demanding setting.

• Ability to work at a remote location camp on a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off rotation• Physically capable of performing in a strenuous working environment.• Comfortable working and living in close quarters with the team.• Ability to maintain high levels of performance over 12-hour shift.• Ability to lift/move up to 50lbs throughout a work shift. • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.• Practical, hands-on experience with personal protective devices and equipment.• An understanding of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and loss control.• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.• Strong organizational, presentation, and consultation skills.• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision in a fast paced, demanding setting.
