- →Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients being served. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of each patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's/area's/department's policies and procedures
- →Responsible for providing patient treatment under the direct supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist or Medical Doctor in the clinic setting
- →Assists with special events outside the clinic
- →Participates in the organization and development of educational and community programs
- →Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- →Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures
- →May also work as an Athletic Trainer in sports setting or injury prevention education under standing orders from a physician. In this case, there would not be direct supervision by a Physical Therapist, and therefore, physical therapy will not be billed. Athletic training or injury prevention education may or may not be billed. In the non-clinic setting, the Athletic Trainer will report to the department manager, administrator, or medical director

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in athletic training or a related field.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- None Required
- Maintains current certification as an Athletic Trainer by the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) Board of Certification (BOC)
- Maintains current license as Athletic Trainer in the State of Alabama, Department of Health
- Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider Certification
- Valid Alabama driver’s license and must be insurable under the Orlando Health insurance carrier’s requirements and standards
