Under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse, the nursing assistant performs various duties in the care and treatment of patients in accordance with established methods and procedures of the Medical Center.

• →Provides direct care to patients in accordance with their individualized care plans
• →Assists patient with activities of daily living, including bathing, oral care, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• →Assist in transportation and transfer of patients, ensuring comfort and safety during movement
• →Monitor and record vital signs, intake and output, and other patient data, reporting any abnormalities or concerns to nursing team
• →Collection of specimens: Collects specimens following policy. Aware of specimens needed and is active in obtaining
• →Accuchecks completed as directed
• →Accurate and prompt documentation
• →Assist with patient hygiene and comfort measures, including turning and repositioning patients to prevent pressure ulcers
• →Support patients with feeding and hydration needs, adhering to dietary restrictions and assisting with mealtime activities. Removing trays in timely manner.
• →Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care and promote positive patient outcomes
• →Completes hourly rounds to assigned patients and anticipates patient needs. Responding promptly to call lights and patient requests
• →Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families, demonstrating empathy and compassion in all interactions
• →Maintain a clean and organized patient environment, including changing bed linens, stocking supplies, and ensuring cleanliness of patient rooms, and preparing rooms for admissions and transfers.
• →Adhere to infection control protocols and hospital policies and procedures to maintain a safe and sanitary environment for patients and staff
• →Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge in patient care and hospital procedures

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to perform CPR

• BLS – Basic Life Saving Certification

• High school graduate or equivalent

• Student nurse currently enrolled in nursing school that has completed one semester of nursing school to include clinical courses AND/OR have an active CNA license in Delaware.
