Voice Data Communications Engineer, Senior

The Voice Data Communication Engineer, Senior, will provide technical direction, engineering expertise, and support across a variety of communication domains, including the planning, designing, development, installation, testing, and maintenance of large communications networks. This entry-level position will allow you to leverage foundational skills while gaining hands-on experience and professional growth within a dynamic environment.

• →Network Design & Development: Assist in planning, designing, and developing large-scale voice and data communications networks to meet performance, security, and scalability requirements.
• →Installation & Infrastructure Support: Participate in the installation and deployment of voice/data communication systems, ensuring adherence to organizational and industry standards.
• →Testing & Troubleshooting: Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting of communication network components to ensure reliable functionality and optimal performance.
• →Maintenance: Support the maintenance and repair of network infrastructure, addressing and resolving issues to ensure uninterrupted operation of communication systems.
• →Technical Documentation: Assist in preparing detailed documentation, network configurations, and system procedures to support ongoing operations and future upgrades.
• →Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional technical teams to coordinate activities and implement communication solutions that align with business needs.
• →Industry Best Practices: Apply engineering knowledge to meet organizational goals while ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
• →Ensures that adequate and appropriate planning is provided to direct building architects and planners in building communications spaces and media pathways meet industry standards.
• →Develops, operates, and maintains voice, wireless, video, and data communications systems.
• →Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent practical experience may be considered.
• At least 7 years of relevant work experience in voice/data communications engineering is preferred but not required for candidates with certifications and strong technical aptitude.
• BICSI Technician certification is required.
• Top-Secret Clearance is required.
• Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

• Foundational understanding of voice and data communication technologies, protocols, and standards (e.g., VoIP, TCP/IP, SIP).
• Ability to analyze, interpret, and resolve network issues efficiently.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
• Interest in developing skills in large communications network environments.
• Familiarity with network and telecommunication tools and diagnostic utilities (hardware and software).

• May require lifting and moving hardware equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
