About the Role
~1 min readAs an Internal Communications Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the organisation to strengthen organisational culture, support transformation, and ensures the workforce remains informed, connected, and motivated."
You will:
- Support the delivery of the internal communications and engagement strategy, providing clear organisation wide messaging to staff and volunteers.
- Create and develop communication plans and key messages to support the delivery of organisational priorities.
- Manage and develop the organisation's internal communication channels, including email newsletters, an internal staff website and leadership broadcasts.
- Coordinate content activity across all channels, to ensure staff and volunteers are informed and engaged in organisational projects and activities.
- Enhance staff engagement and help drive cultural and behavioural change by telling the story of our people, our services and our charity.
- Measure, track and evaluate internal communications activities, using evidence to build on and improve effectiveness.
- Advise and work collaboratively with colleagues in the wider Communications team, Change Management team and other departments on how to influence workforce behaviour through high impact internal communications.
- Share best practice, upskill and empower staff to improve how they communicate and engage.
- 3+ years' experience in a communications or marketing role.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver impactful, creative communications plans.
- Experience of managing communications channels including email campaigns and websites.
- Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to communicate complex information in an accessible, jargon free format.
- Proficient IT skills especially in PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
- Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communicator, comfortable with presenting ideas.
- Highly organised, with ability to plan, prioritise work and meet strict and competing deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Enthusiastic and pro-active, able to take initiative and work autonomously.
- Creative, innovative and passionate about communications.
- A team player that enjoys collaborating with others.
- Degree in a relevant subject.
- Proven ability to support behavioural and cultural change programmes.
- Proficient in the use of email marketing software (we currently use Mailchimp) and Microsoft Office 365 tools including SharePoint, Viva Engage, and Teams town hall events.
- Experience of using analytics and evidence to inform strategies and planning.
