Recovery Worker - Programmes Group

Are you passionate about supporting people to make positive changes? Do you have experience delivering group interventions, facilitating workshops, and helping individuals move towards recovery?

 

We are seeking a Recovery Worker - Programmes Group to join our team. This role will focus on delivering engaging and evidence-based recovery groups, workshops and structured interventions, while also supporting service users throughout their treatment and recovery journey.

 

The role combines direct client work with the opportunity to design, develop and enhance recovery programmes that make a real difference. Based on the Programme Groups Worker role specifics and Recovery Worker responsibilities.

 

 

• Provide unwavering support to service users from their initial contact with our servicethroughout their treatment and recovery journey.
• Implement tailored interventions aimed at reducing the harm caused by opiate use, either through group sessions or one-on-one engagement.
• Facilitaiton of the Atlas programme
• Ensure service users receive a comprehensive, recovery-focused plan, including pre-detox preparation and post-care support.
• Research, design and prepare subject matter and materials for groups/pods.
• Engage with debriefing and evaluations with co-facilitator/s after groups/pods have taken place.
• Lead on graduation events for service users who have completed the programme.
• Review service user feedback and make adjustments as necessary.
• Tailor specific workshops around the needs of the SUs, such as: anger management, sleep disorders, relationships, etc.
• Research and confirm community venues as needed

We're looking for someone who combines professionalism, compassion and enthusiasm with a genuine commitment to helping people achieve positive change.

You will ideally bring:

• A strong understanding of substance misuse, recovery and harm reduction approaches.
• Experience working within drug and alcohol services, healthcare, social care or a related field.
• Experience facilitating groups and managing group dynamics effectively.
• Knowledge and experience of motivational interviewing and psychosocial interventions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
• The ability to build effective therapeutic relationships with a diverse range of people.
• Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
• A commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality and professional boundaries.  
• A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.  

• Experience developing and delivering structured recovery programmes.
• Understanding of trauma-informed approaches.
• Knowledge of evidence-based group interventions
• Relevant qualification in counselling, group work, mental health, health and social care or a related discipline.
