Chemtrade is seeking a knowledgeable and service-oriented Temporary Benefits Analyst to join our Total Rewards team fon a 12 to 18-month contract to provide maternity leave coverage. This role is focused on the administration of United States employee benefit, retirement, disability, and leave programs while supporting employees through the full benefits lifecycle. The successful candidate will work closely with employees, HR, Payroll, brokers, benefit carriers, retirement providers, and third-party administrators to ensure accurate administration, strong compliance, responsive employee support, and continuous improvement across U.S. benefits programs.

 

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of U.S. benefits administration experience.
  • Experience supporting U.S. health and welfare plans, 401(k) retirement plans, disability, and leave programs.
  • Working knowledge of ACA, ERISA, FMLA, COBRA, HIPAA, ADA, and related U.S. benefit requirements.
  • Strong Excel, reporting, HRIS, vendor-management, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication, customer-service, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • CEBS, SHRM-CP, PHR, or a related designation is considered an asset.
  • Experience with self-insured U.S. health and welfare plans, including vendor administration and claims funding processes.
  • Experience supporting unionized workplaces and interpreting benefit provisions within collective agreements.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or multi-site environment.
  • Experience supporting Open Enrollment, benefits invoice reconciliation, and vendor performance follow-up in a complex organization

Administer U.S. medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, HSA/FSA, and voluntary benefit programs.
Manage employee enrollments, qualifying life events, terminations, beneficiary updates, and other benefit changes.
Respond to employee and manager inquiries regarding benefit coverage, eligibility, plan provisions, and claims.
Partner with brokers, benefit carriers, and third-party administrators to resolve employee issues and support accurate plan administration.
Process and reconcile benefits invoices, investigate discrepancies, coordinate corrections with vendors and Payroll, and support accurate cost allocation and payment approvals.
Support vendor management activities, including service issue resolution, performance monitoring, implementation of plan changes, and follow-up on open administrative items.
Support Open Enrollment planning, communications, testing, issue resolution, post-enrollment reconciliation, audits, and vendor reporting.
  • Support administration of U.S. 401(k) retirement plans.
  • Coordinate eligibility, enrollment, participant communications, distributions, loans, hardship withdrawals, and related transactions.
  • Assist with annual audits, nondiscrimination testing, reporting, and plan governance support.
  • Maintain accurate retirement plan records and support vendor data requirements.
  • Support administration of FMLA, ADA accommodation processes, short-term disability, long-term disability, and other employee leave programs.
  • Coordinate communication with employees, managers, HR partners, insurers, and third-party administrators.
  • Assist with claim tracking, return-to-work administration, documentation, and case status reporting.
  • Handle confidential leave and disability information with care, accuracy, and discretion.
  • Support U.S. benefit compliance activities, including ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, and related vendor reporting needs.
  • Maintain accurate data within HRIS, benefits administration, retirement, and vendor systems.
  • Prepare reports, metrics, reconciliations, and audit documentation related to U.S. benefits, retirement, leave, and disability programs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve employee experience, vendor processes, reporting, controls, and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in Total Rewards projects and special initiatives as required.
