The Cardio Thoracic Technologist is responsible for moderately complex Point of Care Laboratory testing.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Cardiovascular functions and tasks associated with the performance of routine duties as they relate to patients experiencing surgical and peri-surgical procedures.
- →Assisting Anesthesiologist with patient monitoring, and invasive line insertions.
- →Knowledge of the Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump to assist upon insertion, monitoring and maintenance. Familiar with sterile procedures and the OR environment
- →Overseeing and Supervising Laboratory Technicians insuring the proper performance of laboratory procedures
- →The Stocking of supplies for Cardio-Thoracic Anesthesia, CT Lab, and invasive line carts for CTICU. Area of services provided by the CT Lab: OR, PACU, CTICU.
- →Participates in the “on call” schedule.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited college or university preferred
- NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist required, ASCP preferred
- BLS required
- Basic computer skills
- Able to perform moderately complex testing
- 4 years of pertinent clinical laboratory experience preferred subsequent to qualifying of which at least two years have been spent working in a clinical laboratory, having a director at the doctoral level
This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
