The Pharmacy Technician supports pharmacists in the safe, accurate, and efficient preparation and distribution of medications and supplies throughout the hospital.
Responsibilities

Prepare labels and medications, including IV products, oral medications, medication cassettes, and floor stock, under pharmacist supervision.

Prepare and deliver narcotics and controlled substances in accordance with department policies and regulatory requirements.

Fill and maintain medication cassettes, floor stock requests, and emergency/code carts.

Receive, verify, stock, and maintain inventory of medications and pharmaceutical supplies.

Deliver medications and supplies to nursing units and other hospital departments as needed.

Maintain accurate records, controlled-substance inventories, and required documentation.

Prepare basic pharmaceutical and disinfectant solutions as directed.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with infection control standards.

Assist with prescription filling and medication prepackaging under the direction of a pharmacist.

Perform other duties as assigned to support pharmacy operations.
Requirements
~1 min readHigh School Diploma or GED required.
Current national Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or NHA) or licensed Pharmacy Intern required.
Two years of hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
