Concord’s US Copyright Team is at the core of the company’s publishing operations, ensuring that every song in our catalogue is accurately represented and protected worldwide. The Copyright Department plays a critical role in delivering comprehensive and efficient rights management administration of our music catalogues, safeguarding copyrights and maximizing revenue for all of our stakeholders.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Assist with agreement data maintenance, including updates related to new deals, amendments, and terminations within Concord’s database.
- →Deliver notification of Concord’s rights to the North American CMOs, digital partners, and affiliate offices.
- →Review and interpret standard publishing agreements, extract relevant deal information, and support timely and accurate data entry in Concord’s systems.
- →Track and maintain up-to-date deal processing records within Concord’s internal tracking systems.
- →Collaborate with Client Services to review and process external Letters of Direction to ensure accurate and timely updates to Concord’s records.
- →Coordinate with Information Services and Quality Management teams to ensure thorough review of MLC catalog transfer schedules for acquired and terminated catalogues.
- →Support the team with general agreement review and analysis to respond to internal and external agreement inquiries.
- →Assist with scheduled royalty review projects, such as Calc Error and Suspense resolution.
- →As workload dictates, provide additional support to Song Processing by assisting with all aspects of song entry, including but not limited to, Schedule A submissions, newly delivered works, data updates to existing works, bulk amendments and catalog imports.
- →Performs other duties as assigned/contributes to ad-hoc projects as business needs dictate or as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of music publishing/copyright administration experience.
- Demonstrated experience researching, reviewing, extrapolating and interpreting information from music publishing agreements.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage high volumes of work while maintaining high quality standards.
- Solution-oriented with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills; a drive for continuous improvement.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Able to articulate and explain complex information, adapting presentation and focus to varying audiences.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (lookup functions, pivot tables, cleaning data, conditional formatting, etc.).
