- Completes and updates mandatory training and other licensure related items in a timely manner
- Attends mandatory staff meeting and other meetings as assigned
- Seeks the best use of materials, equipment and staff to maximize efficiency and effectiveness
- Utilizes data collection in relation to driving and tracking outcomes and achieving agency initiatives and goals
- Ensures that the agency meets its quality improvement, evaluation and reporting requirements
- Takes pride and ownership in Damar’s facilities and assigned work areas
- Maintains neat, chronological documentation of all goals and behaviors
- Keep abreast of current treatment technology, literature, practices, and regulations
- Interacts professionally with parents, school, medical personnel, and others using only excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Requirements
~1 min read- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- ABA therapy experience and/or experience working with children with autism is preferred but not required
- Ability to use an iPad and computer
- Must have or be able to obtain Therapeutic Crises Intervention (TCI) Certification
- Must have or be able to obtain CPR Certification
- Minimum age of 21 per licensure requirements
- Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving)
- Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal convictions
- Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and physical
- Favorably meet and maintain Damar’s background screening
The essential functions of this position require the physical ability and mobility needed to perform the job. This includes the ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods; occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs.; operate office equipment, including a computer keyboard; travel to other locations using private or commercial transportation; and communicate effectively to exchange information.
The position also requires the ability to recognize and respond appropriately to client behaviors, staff instructions, safety concerns, and emergencies in an environment where individuals may display aggressive, self-injurious, sexually maladaptive, elopement, or other unpredictable behaviors.
Regular and acceptable attendance, excluding approved absences and periods of leave, is also an essential function of the position.
