This role is located on our main residential campus in the Welcome Center (6067 Decatur Blvd, Indianapolis, IN) and is based fully on-site.
What We Offer
~1 min read- Oversees the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with organizational policies
- Oversees and ensures the timely and accurate completion of the month-end and year-end close processes
- Leads the accounting and revenue cycle teams through direct management of department leaders, ensuring strong performance, accountability, and team development
- Assists with and coordinates the annual budgeting process across programs and departments
- Prepares timely and accurate financial statements and reports for the CFO and leadership on a monthly basis
- Prepares and submits required financial reports to external entities, including regulatory agencies and auditors
- Leads and coordinates the annual financial audit and supports other audits or reviews as needed
- Coordinates and prepares data required for annual cost reports, including Medicaid and other applicable funding sources
- Monitors and analyzes financial and statistical data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
- Provides financial projections, insights, and recommendations to support leadership decision-making
- Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to financial operations
- Stays current on regulatory and accounting standard changes impacting the organization
- Develops and delivers financial training and guidance to managers and operational leaders
- Reviews and audits accounting processes and data to ensure accuracy and strengthen internal controls
- Partners with the CFO on strategic initiatives, process improvements, and financial planning activities
- Evaluates and improves accounting systems, processes, and workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Participates in organizational committees or cross-functional teams, as needed
- Maintains confidentiality of sensitive financial and organizational information in accordance with applicable laws and policies
- Promotes a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
- Supports quality and compliance initiatives, including identifying issues, reporting concerns, and implementing improvements
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting or finance experience required
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience, including oversight of managers or supervisors required
- Experience in healthcare, nonprofit, or multi-entity environments preferred
- Ability to think critically, analyze complex issues, and develop effective, data-driven solutions
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
- Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal convictions
- Successfully complete a pre-employment physical
- Favorably meet and maintain Damar’s background screening
Essential Job Functions:
Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 35lbs); to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
