Responsibilities

Forklift Mechanics develop skills in the diagnosis and repair of Dayton Freight forklift components.

→Perform preventative maintenance inspections and services
→Support the tire maintenance program
→Perform service calls
→Wash and fuel equipment
→Perform other maintenance duties or assignments
→Provide assistance to senior technicians
→Lead the care and upkeep of the Maintenance Shop, grounds and all equipment and tools
→Maintain a clean, safe environment that complies with DOT, EPA, OSHA and Company standards
→Be proficient in paperwork and record keeping
→In conjunction with the Parts Department, assure that all necessary materials, parts, service/shop supplies are maintained at proper quantity levels
→Effectively handle special assignments as directed
→Able to maintain a quality hand tool inventory
→Skills to communicate professionally with operations and/or operators
→Able to participate at a high level of teamwork
