The Administrator/ALP RN is responsible for the overall management and clinical oversight of resident care services within the Assisted Living Community and Assisted Living Program (ALP). This position ensures the delivery of high-quality, resident-centered care while maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing Assisted Living and Adult Care Facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate the clinical operations of the Assisted Living Program (ALP) and Licensed Home Care Services Agency (LHCSA) in collaboration with the Resident Care Director (RCD), Memory Care Director (MCD), physicians, and external service providers.
  • Conduct resident assessments, reassessments, and evaluations; develop, implement, and update individualized care plans in accordance with resident needs, regulatory requirements, and physician recommendations.
  • Ensure residents receive appropriate services, including medications, ADL assistance, dietary support, safety interventions, and other care plan services.
  • Monitor resident status through daily rounds, case management, chart reviews, and care conferences; respond promptly to changes in condition, clinical concerns, incidents, and provider recommendations.
  • Maintain complete and accurate resident documentation, including assessments, care plans, case management notes, UAS updates, and records of services provided by internal and external caregivers.
  • Recruit, hire, orient, train, supervise, schedule, evaluate, counsel, and discipline home care and resident care staff in collaboration with Administration and Human Resources.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels and appropriate staff mix to provide uninterrupted resident care and services at all times.
  • Develop and maintain staff education, competency, and in-service training programs; monitor attendance and compliance with all required training and certification requirements.
  • Oversee employee personnel records, performance evaluations, supervision visits, competencies, and regulatory documentation.
  • Ensure all resident care staff adhere to company policies, procedures, care plans, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Investigate, document, and follow up on resident and employee incidents, accidents, grievances, and complaints; implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Lead and participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities, including audits, chart reviews, quality monitoring, corrective action plans, and regulatory survey preparedness.
  • Collaborate with residents, families, healthcare providers, and community agencies to coordinate services, resolve concerns, and support resident well-being.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and provide clinical support and guidance for resident care issues and emergencies.
  • Assist with marketing, admissions, service coordination, policy development, and other operational initiatives as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York (or applicable state).
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing leadership experience in Assisted Living, Adult Care, Long-Term Care, Skilled Nursing, or Senior Living.
  • Experience overseeing an Assisted Living Program (ALP) strongly preferred.
  • Experience with state surveys, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance programs.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising and developing clinical teams.
  • Thorough knowledge of Assisted Living and ALP regulations.
  • Strong clinical assessment and care planning skills.
  • Knowledge of geriatric nursing practices and chronic disease management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical documentation systems.
