NoveList is seeking a Senior Readers’ Advisory Librarian, Promotional Advisory Content to lead the creation of engaging promotional advisory content that helps readers discover books they’ll love. Promotional advisory is defined as creating pathways that help people discover reading materials they might love, including physical and digital displays, form-based readers’ advisory, reading challenges, lists, online content, and newsletters. The ideal candidate for this position has deep knowledge of readers' advisory principles, understands how readers discover materials across formats and age groups, and can translate that expertise into compelling content and product enhancements.  

 

This remote position is position is U.S. based only (excluding U.S. territories).  

Responsibilities

  • Develop engaging content for librarians including readers' advisory guides, professional development materials, instructional materials, book lists, book display ideas, reading challenges, newsletters, and online features 
  • Ensure the content delivers on library needs and drives meaningful business outcomes 
  • Serve as an internal subject expert on promotional readers’ advisory trends, practices, and outcomes
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of content libraries, templates, and advisory resources used across NoveList products
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and data teams to shape readers' advisory tools and user experiences in NoveList products
  • Represent NoveList at conferences, webinars, and customer‑facing events by creating and delivering presentations and workshops on promotional readers’ advisory best practices, trends, and product capabilities
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in customer conversations, advisory boards, and partner collaborations
  • Contribute to external communications such as blog posts, articles, and recorded content that highlight NoveList’s thought leadership in readers’ advisory and demonstrate how the NoveList portfolio supports promotional readers' advisory efforts

  • 5+ years working in public-facing roles in libraries, bookstores, or similar settings
  • Master's degree in Library and/or Information Science
  • Able to travel up to 15% of the time
  • 2+ years of experience working in a public library role focused on promotional advisory, including book displays, book programming, and self-directed advisory
  • 2+ years of experience with MS Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • 2+ years of experience writing and editing content for various channels and audiences
  • Strong proficiency in developing and delivering virtual and in-person presentations
  • Proficiency using tools and resources, such as professional publications, to remain up to date with trends impacting promotional advisory
