EMCOR Government Services has an immediate opening for an Assistant Project Manager in Arlington, VA supporting the FDIC facilities portfolio in Washington, DC and Arlington, VA, consisting of approximately 2.5 million square feet of office, support, and mission-critical facilities. Reporting directly to the Sr Project Manager, the Assistant Project Manager assists with the daily management of a comprehensive facilities management contract, including building operations, service contract administration, project coordination, work control management, financial oversight, and client engagement.
The Assistant Project Manager provides leadership and oversight to key operational functions, supports the execution of facility and construction-related projects, manages subcontractor performance, and helps ensure contract requirements are achieved safely, efficiently, and in accordance with client expectations. The position serves as a critical member of the contract leadership team and acts as a primary interface with client representatives, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities
~4 min read- →Provide direct oversight and supervision of the Work Control Business Manager, IDIQ Manager, and Dockmaster.
- →Assist the Sr Project Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the FDIC Washington, DC facilities.
- →Manage service contracts, including custodial, elevator, interior plant, landscaping, recycling, pest control, and waste management services, ensuring compliance with contract requirements and performance standards.
- →Administer and oversee the Maximo work order system, ensuring proper staff training, data integrity, and effective utilization to support contract operations.
- →Serve as a primary point of contact for operational inquiries and coordinate regularly with the client regarding facility operations, service delivery, and contract performance.
- →Perform research, analysis, and special projects in support of contract operations and Sr Project Manager initiatives.
- →Prepare and maintain correspondence, reports, presentations, financial analyses, and other documentation required to support contract operations, client requirements, and company reporting.
- →Schedule and participate in meetings and conferences; prepare agendas, meeting minutes, and action item tracking as required.
- →Assist with budget development, cost tracking, invoice review, and financial reporting to ensure contract performance remains aligned with budget objectives.
- →Coordinate with the Accounting Department to ensure accurate and timely client invoicing, vendor payments, and associated financial documentation.
- →Coordinate with Human Resources on personnel matters, including documentation, onboarding, performance-related actions, attendance, leave administration, and timekeeping compliance.
- →Create and manage work orders for client-funded projects and tasks, ensuring documentation, billing, performance tracking, and project closeout activities are completed accurately and on schedule.
- →Conduct site walks with clients, develop project requirements, solicit contractor proposals, and evaluate submissions to ensure compliance with scope, budget, and contract requirements.
- →Develop scopes of work and coordinate procurement activities for small projects and service requirements.
- →Track project status, costs, schedules, and performance metrics, and provide regular updates through weekly and monthly reporting.
- →Maintain SharePoint sites, contract files, and operational records to ensure information remains current, accurate, and accessible.
- →Respond to safety incidents, conduct investigations, document findings, and prepare required reports and corrective action recommendations.
- →Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
~2 min read- Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing personnel responsible for the operation and maintenance of building equipment and systems within facilities of similar size, complexity, and operational characteristics as those covered under this contract.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience assisting in the management of a Comprehensive Facilities Management (CFM) contract.
- Demonstrated experience supervising personnel and coordinating multiple operational and administrative functions.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, correspondence, meeting minutes, and client-facing documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and complete assignments with minimal supervision.
- Ability to effectively interact with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders in a professional manner.
- Must be a proactive self-starter with strong attention to detail and customer service skills
- Experience managing operations and maintenance activities within a federal or government facility environment.
- Experience administering service contracts and overseeing subcontractor performance.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), including IBM Maximo.
- Experience with work control, project coordination, invoicing, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Experience developing scopes of work, soliciting contractor proposals, and supporting project execution and closeout.
- Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
