Front End Engineering Team Lead

We’re seeking an experienced engineering leader who thrives in fast-paced product environments and enjoys combining hands-on development with technical leadership.

In this role, you will lead a small but highly effective contractor team responsible for delivering key frontend capabilities for a large-scale client-facing platform. You will work closely with design, engineering, and product stakeholders to drive a major frontend transformation initiative.

This is a predominantly hands-on leadership role, with the majority of your time dedicated to active engineering contribution.

• →Lead the development of production-grade frontend features based on interactive prototypes delivered by the design team;
• →Coordinate and prioritise the team’s workflow while remaining heavily involved in hands-on development;
• →Collaborate closely with frontend and backend engineering teams to integrate systems and services using clean architecture and modern API design principles;
• →Take ownership of technical delivery, proactively solve problems, and ensure timely execution against demanding deadlines;
• →Promote engineering excellence through code quality, automated testing, and modern CI/CD practices;
• →Apply modern AI-assisted development techniques to accelerate prototyping, code migration, and feature delivery.

• Proven experience leading frontend engineering teams in complex product environments;
• Strong expertise across the modern JavaScript ecosystem;
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both engineers and stakeholders;
• Experience working with AWS and Kubernetes-based deployment environments;
• Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to effectively context switch between leadership and hands-on development;
• Passion for improving engineering efficiency and optimizing the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC);
• Experience working in agile, fast-moving product teams.

• Experience building and scaling frontend projects from scratch;
• Familiarity with frontend design systems and component libraries such as Storybook;
• Experience with backend-for-frontend solutions or server-side technologies;
• Knowledge of Go or experience collaborating closely with Go-based backend teams.
