Our physicians are board certified ophthalmologists by the American board of Ophthalmology and completed an additional two-year vitreoretinal surgical fellowship in diseases of the retina, macular, and vitreous. With six MD's and eleven offices in the Houston, TX area we have an ongoing mission to always deliver the best possible care.
We are now hiring for an Ophthalmic technician that will support a high-volume ophthalmic practice that focuses on providing quality and compassionate care to each patient needing complete eye care services.
Responsibilities
~1 min readThis position requires customer service skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a degree of independent decision-making.
Ophthalmic skills include:
- →Record patient's visual complaint.
- →Obtain and document patient's medical history, eye procedures, medications and allergies.
- → Accurately record visual acuity, IOP, pupils, confrontation visual fields and motility.
- →OCT and B-scan experience.
- →Enter data into EMR, request diagnostic testing per physician's orders.
- →Administer eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions to the eye as ordered by physician
- →Consent patients prior to treatment.
- →Help maintain exam room clean and stocked, assist with ordering office supplies and organize the supply room.
- →Maintain clean equipment and autoclave instruments.
- →Assist assigned physician with intravitreal injections
- →Coordinate clinic flow for assigned physician
Requirements
~1 min read- Prior ophthalmology experience preferred
- Dependable transportation required to travel to other offices as required
- Must be flexible with traveling to various locations
- Ability to pay attention to detail • Ability to maintain confidentiality
- The ability to seek instruction in areas where he/she is not knowledgeable
- The ability to recognize inconsistencies
Education/Certifications: Graduation from an accredited high school
